Work Experience
Inventory Manger
Latting Speed Shop2022 – 2024
Over the course of my employment at Latting, I equipped the shop with protocols to properly account for the intake and sale of inventory. This involved:
- Organizing thousands of SKUs in a homogenized, simplified manner - Implementing the use of purchase orders - Generating comprehensive inventory reports
My more specific daily activities also included:
- Ordering from distributors for general shop inventory and special order projects - Compiling parts special ordered for custom projects and keeping mechanics aware of when those projects would be ready for completion - Checking in incoming inventory - Writing copy for the website and email newsletter - Interfacing with customers - Operating our online sales channels including eBay, Shopify, and others - Repairing bikes when the mechanics' workload would overflow
Bike Shop Manager
Outdoors, Inc.2022 – 2022
A couple months into my employment at Outdoors Inc, I became the solo operator of the Union Ave. location's bike shop. This involved:
- Conducting all bicycle sales and repairs - Merchandising inventory - Compiling a needs list to fill inventory holes and complete special orders - Reported weekly in the managers' meeting on the operations of the bike shop - Opening and closing the store daily
Customer Service & Warranty Technician
DT Swiss2021 – 2021
- Resolved 40-50 general inquiries per day via phone and email conversations with customers and dealers across North America - Assured customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable, easygoing, and approachable in conversation and action-oriented in service, often mailing small replacement parts free-of-charge or setting up RA #s for service to be completed within the week - Conducted warranty hub rebuilds during a period of elevated volume (5-7+ hub rebuilds per day) due to an emergent warranty issue - Built complete wheels as needed, usually when the warranty rebuild queue became urgent or overwhelmingly long - Worked as product support at the 2021 Big Sky Big Mountain Enduro, doing on-the-spot wheel & hub rebuilds for racers riding DT Swiss products and for the Yeti Factory Offroad team, who DT Swiss sponsors
Mechanic & Salesperson
The Bike Shop GJ2017 – 2021
- Developed a complete foundational understanding of bicycle repair through repetitive service supported by outstanding training - Sold bikes, often multiple per week during busy season, to the deep and wide market in Grand Junction - Assisted customers with building needs lists for riding in our desert environment, guiding their accessory purchases by providing knowledgeable insight into what works and what doesn’t work for our locale - Followed manufacturer training plans, such as Shimano S-Tech, to deeply understand the product I worked with
