GM of an Aspen institution - Mezzaluna - which just opened a new location in the mid-valley of the Roaring Fork Valley. A brand new restaurant in a new building. Full GM duties, extensive online social media marketing, and close working relationship with ownership and chef. Resigned due to lack of challenge.

GM of a large high volume scratch food & bar latin concept at the base of Snowmass ski area. 250 seat slopeside restaurant. Remodeled restaurant, added seating, conducted extensive staff training to increase service quality, designed beverage program, created menus (seasonal and daily special), bar management (52% of gross is bar), maintained 15% pour cost at bar, maintained over 21.5% net profit margin overall in restaurant, entertainment booking. Responsible for all aspects of restaurant (ownership level), including private booking, etc. Resigned to seek a better work/life balance.

Negotiated with US and Canadian Ski Team athletes and int. and US suppliers. Designed catalogs and websites. Led 15-person sales and service team. • Grew overall sales from $2.5 to $5 million and US Holmenkol sales from $60,000 to $700,000. • Successfully developed, branded, and marketed sub-brand known as Uvex Race, with high-performance and racing-specific products. • Identified, contracted, and supported approximately 50% of USST & Alpine Canada athletes from national caliber thru OWG Gold medal caliber. • Gained recognition for company by introducing service first concept to make Uvex & Holmenkol brands more appealing by providing service at NorAm and FIS levels. • Coordinated & provided service for athletes at multiple FIS World Cup events and Torino Olympics.

Outside sales & marketing for Diamondback bicycle brand, related accessories, and parts. Vermont & upstate New York region. Grew territory into #2 in sales volume in USA, and #1 in P&A volume. Total volume of ~$1.7m. Entire field sales force was laid off when Diamondback was sold to Derby Cycle Company.

Ski School Director
Bolton Valley Ski Resort1995 – 1996
Ski School Director for mid-sized Vermont resort, serving primarily day & weekend skiers from in & out of state. Nearest major city [Burlington] was only 30 minutes away. Full time staff of 15, part time staff of 80+. Led entire school, and focused strongly on training, personal goal setting, and leading by example. The resort unfortunately went bankrupt in early March [not uncommon for this resort] and everyone was laid off.

Alpine program director [alpine ski racing]. Managed coaching staff. Developed, planned, and executed season long USSA & FIS alpine training and racing program for 20 athletes. Started and coached competitive mountain biking program, including creating a race course and holding races.

Provided private full day instruction and coaching for clients on Aspen Mountain. Consistently one of the most requested instructors, and finished out the last two seasons with the #2 position in the ski school in total hours taught. Dick Dorworth, Ski School Director.
