In My Own Words
Hi, My name is Anna! I am a visual communicator and brand enthusiast. I have worked in various fields of visual communication over the last 5 years. Brand direction, graphic design, UX and UI for web design, social media representation, photoshoot production, marketing, and community engagement through communication were some of the roles I have fullfilled. I shaped visual representation for brands in various industries from Fashion to Artificial Intelligence. I am a believer in creating and maintaining honest, sustainable, consumer oriented brand identities. Brands that are committed to developing the future for the people one industry at a time, one graphic element at a time. I believe in sustainable future of businesses in this world from maximizing digital experiences to minimizing impact of one time use print materials. I focus on delivering better customer oriented experiences and impactful designs. At M.Y.S. firm, I have fulfilled the role of lead web designer on the Impact Graphics team. M.Y.S believes in empowering community excellence through visual communication. As communicators through graphics and multimedia design, we have a responsibility to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and to fight to acknowledge inequities. Our team works on projects for under-represented populations giving them voices in various industries. My love for camping, fishing and all things wild nature started when I was a small child visiting islands on the Volga river with my family. As a high school student, I volunteered during archeological excavations of the historical sites in my native region. While in college, I camped in the distant regions of the Black sea, and hiked Caucasus mountains' glaciers. In my adult life, I enjoy camping and hiking in national parks and hope to check them all off of my bucket list someday. In 2021-2022, I volunteered on PTO Board as a VP of Communication. I stepped into the role of post-pandemic chaotic environment and lead the mission to return to the new normal. Longfellow K-8 is one of the most diverse schools in SDUSD uniting children from various demographic, ethnic backgrounds and geographical regions of San Diego. Building a sense of community while being inclusive is the biggest challenge during any year. Bringing people together after a year of mistrust, lack of clear rules, and constant change was an extraordinary challenge. Providing a source of efficient, inclusive and consistent communication was my goal while undertaking this position from the chaos of 2020-2021. As the year progressed with new regulations being put in place, new rules released by CDC, SDUSD, etc; new curve balls the pandemic planned for us, I had to adapt and change strategies almost constantly. But despite changing environment, I believed in being the most transparent and the most up to date source of communication in the Longfellow community. Over the year, we have increased participation of the overall community in the events by 300% from the pre-pandemic level. Consistent, highly organized and methodic communication was the key to engaging the community, bringing back the trust and interest in partaking and participating in cultural events, various forms of volunteering and educational process. I take pride in creating a proven to be successful and sustainable pathway for the current and the future VPs of Communications of Los Compadres PTO and remain on the board to provide technical support and training.
