CEO / Executive Director

Main Street Alliance

2013 – 2022

Main Street Alliance supports and engages small business owners on key issues impacting their businesses and communities like capital access, tax fairness, health care, and more. In my time at MSA, I held both internal and external responsibilities and was responsible for creating and driving organization mission, vision, and strategy. I directed and supported massive organization growth: increased membership by 400%, expanded staff by 750%, and grew the budget by 675%, and built all HR, compliance, and finance systems to sustain that growth and launch independent 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 corporations. I built backend the backend operations systems, lined up and managed a variety of vendor relationships, dealt with varying compliance and reporting employment requirements in multiple states, all while also being bottom line responsible for all our business development, fundraising, and overall impact to the Board of Directors and our funders. In addition to the internal operations work, during my 9+ years at Main Street Alliance, I also represented the organization in high profile public spaces with elected officials, other decision-makers, the media, and strategic partners. I supported out members and team to advance a multitude of positive structural reforms including expanding access to affordable health care, paid family and medical leave, removing barriers to and increasing access to capital for small business owners, curbing corporate and monopoly power, and much more.
