I design the ranges for the upcoming season for Wonderbra and Shebear. I create ranges based off trends and the South African market using the overseas market as a base as our market is highly influenced by the European and American fashion industry. I create patterns for new styles by hand. I work with suppliers to get in the latest and most affordable fabrics and lace. I work with my sample room to create the garment into a live sample. Based off a complete range we create product briefs that help record our style numbers which we create from the PLM system. I create all my own BOMS, specs and all other information required on PLM. I work with my costing's department on labour and production costs to ensure most affordable option. I also work with a technical team after I have handed over my new season to them on any PLM changes they need done. I also work with my brand manager to ensure customers requests are met.

I started at Mr Price as a CAD artist. Putting to paper the ideas of the buyer. I did trend and market research. I cadded tops, bottoms, dresses and skirts. I designed mood boards for the ranges. When I was a trainee buyer, I developed artworks with the graphic designers. I worked with suppliers on following up with samples. I worked with quality control on measurements and durability of fabrics and prints. I worked with construction and fits. I managed my sample room to ensure I had all items as they needed to be for presentations. I worked with a CAD artist putting to paper ideas for upcoming ranges. I worked on the systems to track samples, order numbers etc. I also did print and trend research.
