• Hired and onboarded the entire staff while setting up POS, and merchandising (bikes, accessories, racks). Besides the bike side, the owner wanted a place where customers wanted to hang out after organized rides – The Handle Bar was born.
• More than doubled the service business in limited space of the store by bringing an open concept to the tech area. Brought in targeted, profitable accessories.
• Completely redesigned store to fit the vibe of an open-door, modern shop in a beach shopping area. This increased walk-in foot traffic for families and individual riders

Attended trade shows to promote the company, support sales, and foster industry relations.
• Developed a decade-long, trusting friendship with the founder Chris Kegel while loyally carrying out his vision and culture for the stores.
• Responsible for driving Wheel & Sprocket’s branding and marketing initiatives. Goals included creating in-store marketing and promotions plus local events to generate sales, create awareness and local goodwill.
• Led the employee onboarding, which included ongoing training and mentorship of retail and service techs. Store procedures, POS, product knowledge, branding, guest service. Creating a consistent high-level guest experience.
• Produced in-store and consumer marketing events including Ski Expo - A collection of brands, reps, ski areas, Warren Miller films to create sales, excitement, and exposure to Southeastern Wisconsin consumers.
• Commissioned by Chris Kegel to redesign the Brookfield store. Following the successful redesign, I was asked to provide consulting and oversight for 2 additional stores in Wisconsin and Illinois. Redesigns were on schedule and on budget.
• General manager responsibilities included a continued focus on brand integrity, store layout, flow, proper merchandising balanced against store sales and inventory targets. This included improving store procedures on the front and back end of the store.
• Adopted the Team Phoenix program which is a health initiative for women affected by cancer. Involved 14 weeks of training with final participation in a sprint triathlon. Sourced bikes, taught technique, provided fitment, maintenance. Life changing!
