Act as an engineering interface between the medical device industry and Merit Medical's business. Build and sustain credible business relationships with customers and share product expertise accordingly. Demonstrate a thorough command of Merit OEM and Merit Medical products, related product and technical knowledge, trends and players. Own projects to modify stock medical device products to meet customer needs that are unfulfilled by current stock products. Resolve and/or facilitate resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence. Partner with Business Development Managers that accommodate several regions globally to seek out new opportunities with current and new partners, as well as current and new devices. Quantified balance responses to an underfoot perturbation during dynamic walking tasks in healthy and clinical (e.g., concussion) populations using wearable inertial sensors and motion capture. Engineered automated shoe device for locomotion perturbations, integrating PCBs and 3D-printed components. Developed MATLAB pipelines for data analysis and visualization. Effectively communicated results and clinical implications in written and oral presentations to multidisciplinary audiences, including proposing research to organizations to aid in securing funding for projects. Conducted regular literature reviews to stay current with advancements in the field of neuromechanics and locomotion and incorporate relevant findings into research projects and methodologies. Conducted research to identify potential improvements in cutaneous punch biopsy tool design. Collaborated with medical professionals to gather feedback and incorporate their expertise into the design and development process. Fabricated prototypes in accordance with 21.CFR.820 and additional FDA regulations and guidelines. Designed, developed and implemented innovative features using CAD design (Solidworks) and metalwork that employed a unique pinch mechanism to effectively core and retrieve potentially hazardous skin samples and to enhance device performance and usability in clinical settings. Conducted verification testing to ensure the final punch biopsy tool design output met the design input per the standard design control process. Presented project findings in design reviews and implemented feedback in designing and testing the device. Constructed a MATLAB program that analyzes MRI image data and estimates the volume of the lesion resulting from an ablation procedure in effort to treat Atrial Fibrillation. Present graphical user interface (GUI) and code for MRI analysis platform to peers, mentors, and faculty in the form of written abstracts, a final presentation, and a final paper.
