In my own words

Cheryl

To find an opening into the graphic design industry.

An opportunity to work on a team that would teach me the ins and outs of packaging and display work which is my ultimate goal. I am looking for an environment with open collaboration but a smaller team where I can wear many hats in the production of the pieces.

Trajectory

Nov 2019 — Now
Cake Decorator · The Glass Knife
Each day presents a new challenge in this fast-paced environment. This job requires creativity, quick problem solving, and the ability to prioritize projects based on how complex the various requests from customers may be. All while providing great customer service with a smile on my face.
Aug 2016 — Now
Selling Specialist · Under Armour
Create a unique experience for every client that walks through the front door. Utilize the breadth of the Under Armour portfolio as a tool to help solve client issues such as what type of shoe or layering piece needed for an activity. Work with team members to create an easy flow of the shopping experience from finding products through checkout.
Aug 2014 — Apr 2016
Sales Representative · Quality Printing Service
This small business came with big responsibility. Goal setting, accountability, and focus were crucial to hit deadlines on time. I managed the client contact on several hundred accounts from the initial request through the final deliverable. This included being a lead on the American Institute of Architects magazine. A typical day involved visiting business to find new clients, collecting signatures on proofs, and submitting orders.
Aug 2013 — Jun 2014
Lead Cake Decorator · Hornbacher-Supervalu
As a design lead, I took pride in making decisions. I was responsible for ordering more product, forecasting business needs, assigning task to coworkers. The creative outlet was limitless. Customers trusted me to produce a product that was perfect for their occasion.
Aug 2011 — May 2013
Food Server · Red Lobster
Having personality is key in the serving industry. Utilizing my speech skills and learning to read people through body language and reactions to better attend to each customers needs. Timing for delivery of drinks, meals, and any other requests is of the up-most importance.
May 2011 — Aug 2011
Design Intern · Satshot Inc.,
Growing up on a farm this opportunity was a perfect fit as I understood the clientele and how to talk to them through design. I worked under the guidance of the Director of Design & Technology to create marketing materials for trade shows.
