Lead Graphic Designer · Impact Canopy

Buena Park, CA

In My Own Words

I have a Bachelor of the Arts in Graphic Design as well as an Associate of the Arts in Web Design. I love to travel and recently found myself venturing internationally to learn more about other cultures. In my free time, you can find me at the gym, body boarding, snorkeling, playing slow pitch softball, hiking, or relaxing at the beach. With a passion for art and fashion, I enjoy finding new materials to get creative with and scoping out upcoming product and merchandise trends.

Work Experience

Lead Graphic Designer

Impact Canopy

2016 – Present

I support eighteen sales reps who want to show their clients a visual layout of custom graphics on the products that we manufacture. I design renderings for outdoor products such as canopies, banners, table covers, flags, spring signs, outdoor fencing, brand bars, director's chairs and many others. Once these designs are approved, I setup new files for the production team so they can print the final layouts. We print using a heat press, screen print as well as digital methods of printing so I have to prepare the designs accordingly. Other responsibilities include: color matching, re-creating company logos, design advertisements to send out to customers and to use on social media platforms, and lastly, prepare files and communicate with overseas vendors to make sure they are maintaining company standards.

Bartender

The Ranch Restaurant and Saloon

2013 – Present

I was hired as a bar-back in 2013 and have been bartending full time since 2014. I am responsible for my own register as well as creating a memorable experience for my guests. I also lend a hand to my bar-back by helping setup and take down two bars. These duties include: stocking both bars with proper alcohol bottles, preparing all fruits and vegetables that are used for garnishes, organizing beer coolers, stocking glassware, and cleaning back stock rooms.

Graphic/Web Designer

Kids Blanks by Zoe

2015 – 2015

I was the sole creative position within the company while employed, so I taught myself how to manage my responsibilities in order to complete projects on time. I designed renderings for clients to see what their artwork would look like before going into the production process. I was responsible for setting up the artwork for the company who was silk screening each design. Another responsibility I held was to maintain the company website using Fortune 3 eCommerce website builder. I updated price changes, uploaded photographs and detailed information about new merchandise items, removed discontinued items, and kept track of inventory quantities. I was also in charge of marketing collateral and the companies SEO reports. I sent out eBlasts to our client list, plus posted frequently on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google and Pintrest. Lastly, I designed a company newspaper that provided our clients with up to date information about Kids Blanks, upcoming events, and promotions that we were creating on a monthly basis.

Graphic Design Intern

KVP International

2014 – 2015

I worked with the Senior Graphic Designer on marketing collateral such as designing eBlasts, web banners, and print advertisement for upcoming promotions. I assisted in photo shoots of new products as well as retouched photos that were going to be used for advertisements. Lastly, I converted customer logos from flat images into vector drawings that were used to create custom dog tags.

Production Designer

Paper Girl Custom Invitations

2004 – 2012

I was responsible for scoring, cutting, and gluing together invitations, RSVP and accommodation cards. I shopped for materials such as ribbon, paper, or other specialty accessories for clients. I held meetings with new clients to figure out the details of their project and would deliver finished products to clients for approval. I often also set up furniture, bars, glassware, linens, lighting, and flowers for events designed by Paper Girl.
