After I graduated with a BA in Classics, I gravitated towards graphic design, which I had been doing on a freelance basis since high school. My father and uncle, both Brooks-educated photographers and avid cyclists, shaped my affinity for photography and cycling.

Throughout my career in graphic design and marketing, I have helped to build brands and marketing strategies. I learned how to advertise across multiple channels. I became a power user in many different types of design software, concentrating now on Adobe Creative Cloud. I am an expert in the printing processes of many different types of media.

Over the past 10 years, I also honed my skills as a photographer and videographer. I shot various events and promotional videos during my time at my past jobs. I also became proficient at video and audio production as a result. 

Specialties include: graphic design, photography, videography, marketing, brand management and media buying.

Management of Sales Staff

Velo Pro is an exciting place to work. Cycling is an exciting way of life. In this role I must manage a sales staff of three to six people on a daily basis. Under my guidance, I must make sure that they are serving the customers every need. I also take the lead in sales floor merchandising, product knowledge, managing customer expectations, and resolving disputes. 

Management of Marketing, Design & Production

Assist with creative needs for events and rides. Updating and/or creating print marketing and collateral materials, website design support, including but not limited to interactive elements, general content updates, etc. Social media management, campaigns, goals, and posts.

Event & Campaign Design Support

Adapting the design and concepts for VA events and campaigns that are produced by our external creative team for use across print, production and web assets. This may include creating a list of required assets, identifying appropriate specs, researching and recommending execution options, and managing production budget, as well as all final print- and web-ready art. Supporting the development of creative for VA’s fundraising or awareness campaigns including print, web and/or social assets. This may include developing new design concepts or modifying existing assets.

Divisional Design & Production

Reviewing existing creative assets, updating/refreshing while maintaining consistency with brand guidelines, including typeset and/or layout information (brochures, certificates, etc.). Assist with creative needs for tradeshows and partnership marketing, which may include updating and/or creating print marketing and collateral materials (i.e. booth design, one sheets, presentations, etc.) to assist the Development Division with funding proposals. Create and/or edit materials to support the Programs Division in training, educating, and otherwise communicating with field partners and/or beneficiaries. Assist with creative needs from the Corporate Services Division, included but not limited to annual reports, business cards, etc.

Web & Digital Design and Production

Website design support, including but not limited to interactive elements, general content updates, etc. Create digital content; i.e., email blasts, web banners, social posts, etc.

Other Duties

Prioritize and manage creative project requests, facilitating internal needs and submitting/tracking those for our external creative agency. Have a working knowledge of available VA content for use in organization and partner materials. Support tagging, tracking of and reporting on image and other content use, as needed (Digital Asset Management, DAM).

Manager, Creative Design and Production

Daily duties included: overseeing the daily operations of the pre-press department, preparing files for press-ready imaging, maintaining the RIP and software updates; managing the network.

Prepress Manager

Primary duties include: Project management and creative asset production for the Marketing Department. I am responsible for creating and managing Projects and team building for radio & TV production, web ad production, digital branch merchandising, social media ad and video production, print ad production, design and layout of print collateral including sales materials, brochures, posters, flyers, web photography, website promo box design, digital ad production and campaign building, photo preparation, company newsletter preparation and production. 

I also act as an ad hoc advertising agency within the bank: I schedule media buys with radio, print and television outlets, write creative briefs and business cases.

I am also the bank photographer and videographer. I shoot events and interviews for our YouTube and social media presences. I use current versions of Lightroom and Photoshop for photo production and Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition for video and audio production.

Software skills include: Power User of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite of applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premire Pro, Adobe Audition); Adobe Lightroom 5; Apple Aperture 3; Microsoft Office
