My name is Tom Badum and I’m a multi-faceted designer with a passion for creating vibrant brands and campaigns.  I think of myself as a storyteller.  Branding is all about developing an authentic narrative, and connecting with an audience in a way that gets them excited to read further.

Throughout my career, I have proven myself to be a creative problem solver.  Let me raid the fridge for leftovers and I’ll turn it into a gourmet meal.  In my pantry of skills you’ll find the basic seasonings; print layout, packaging, web, social and email marketing.  For a little extra flavor and production value, I like to throw in some motion graphics, video editing and interface design.  And of course, I believe in making things from scratch whenever possible.  I write the recipes.  I plan the attack, storyboard the photoshoots and develop the details.  I am an extremely versatile and valuable asset because I get involved with all aspects and mediums of a brand’s voice.

- Managing multiple creative departments while working towards a massive brand overhaul through the means of product reorganization, innovative packaging redesign and brand voice standardization 
- Using creative problem solving and conceptual thinking to design ad campaigns that communicate product benefits without making medical claims (CBD products are legal but not FDA Approved) 
- Creating branded content that stands out in an over-saturated industry in the form of web/email/social marketing, custom retail displays and collateral, video content and easily understood infographics. 

Creative Director / Senior Graphic Designer

- Worked with brand and marketing directors to transition a popular Japanese brand into US marketplace 
- Created an inventory of marketing collateral and ad campaign assets in print, video and web mediums 
- Created storyboards and planned out photoshoots with top-tier professional athletes to ensure smooth operation and uphold mutually beneficial relationships with talent and production teams 
- Worked with outside vendors to create innovative retail displays utilizing hologram technology and vibrant, energetic signage for big-box retailers in US and Canada 
- Worked with outside web developer to create user-friendly e-commerce website, an online university app to train retail sales force as well as an interactive catalog app for consumer education at retail level 
- Worked with Denver Broncos’ Linebacker, Von Miller, to create SMU product line that told his story as an athlete and would also resonate with his fans and build brand authority 

Senior Graphic Designer / Marketing Coordinator

- Conducted market research to revitalize brand identity and consumer interest 
- Created advertising campaigns in line with new brand voice to connect with a growing demographic 
- Created tech packs for hard and soft goods including paddleboards, luggage, apparel and accessories 
- Worked with multiple overseas factories to manage deadlines and product quality 
- Created retail assets including P.O.P. signage, custom displays and trade show booths as well as marketing collateral, seasonal catalogs and product packaging 
- Built and developed e-commerce website to increase user experience and product education 
- Created multiple sub-brands within the organization to reach the more niche demographics 
- Worked with in-house videographer and provided motion graphics to create a library of branded content 

Art Director / Graphic Designer

- Developed brand identity and voice to connect with the surf/skate lifestyle demographic 
- Created seasonal product lines of apparel including graphic tees, outerwear, hats and other accessories 
- Managed production process and timeline to ensure on-time delivery and efficient campaign launch 
- Created marketing collateral including catalogs, P.O.P. signage, hangtags and other promotional merch 
- Built e-commerce website and corresponding social media content and advertising campaigns 

Graphic Designer

- Communicated with clients to set project goals and parameters and discussed options and expectations 
- Created and/or developed brand identities for local businesses and individual clients 
- Created a variety of branded merchandise and marketing tools including but not limited to vehicle wraps, window decals, vinyl banners, custom signage, product labels and apparel graphics 
- Set up print-ready files and managed print production in-house as well as other print shop operations

Jr. Graphic Designer

- Created tech packs to provide graphic size/placement and colorway options for Men’s Tees
