Hello, my name is Tessa Ptacek and I’m a 27-year-old dive instructor from Redondo Beach, California and I am absolutely OBSESSED with Scuba Diving, Sharks and Marine Conservation, and Photography.
       Some quick facts about me are that I graduated with honors from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, in May of 2011 with a degree in Photography, Design and Ceramics. After Graduating I started working in the dive world, which is where I’ve been for the past five years. I am a PADI Instructor, and Red Cross Instructor and have almost 500 dives in my five years of diving. Until recently, I was working for Body Glove and Dive N’ Surf as one of their main dive instructors, top sales associates, scheduling manager, and tropical travel coordinator. I have organized dive trips to Barbados, Guadalupe Island, Cozumel, Fiji, and Malaysia so far, but I’m just starting. Traveling and new experiences are some of my other fascinations. And I absolutely adore teaching as well and am great with a variety of people, but especially those with fears they are trying to overcome. 
       I was recently honored by representing the USA in The Miss Scuba International Competition that occurred in Malaysia. This competition is all about spreading marine conservation awareness through beauty. I received 2nd runner up, but the best parts of this experience were meeting people from around the world, and the talks from WWF and Manta Trust.    
       To make myself stand out even more, it should be known that I have excellent communication skills and love organizing and planning. I work very well under pressure and in fast paced environments and I'm a fantastic team leader and love to work in groups. Contrasting, I can be very independent and enjoy working alone as well. Being in the dive industry the past five years, I've gotten very used to having flexible and non-conventional hours. I have been a personal assistant many times before and as stated, I am excellent with organizing multiple schedules and events at once and I have absolutely superb customer service and a tenacious work ethic! I'm very efficient and upbeat, and have been told I have a wicked sense of humor.
