In My Own Words

Textile designer with over 6 years’ industry experience, During my time as a product developer with tentree I owned the development of all fully fashioned styles including womens, mens & accessories as well as a select number of woven and cut and sew styles. Past job experience in woven carpets with a specialism in knitwear. A highly focused individual with a strong eye for colour and pattern with an attention to detail. Extremely self-motivated and devoted, a problem solver who is always looking at ways to improve.

2018 – 2022

Working within the carpet studio design team at Botany Weaving Mill analysing, designing and developing carpets for the Aviation industry, I have developed in-depth knowledge of Wool & Nylon yarns and how they work along with different weave structures in creating a carpet that is both aesthetically pleasing and suitable for aircraft. I have always had a keen eye for colour and working on new briefs gives me the scope to use these skills in developing palettes that will work well with all aspects of the final product. I am also fine-tuning my colour matching abilities through lab work and I am now able to assist dyers in the process.

Working with a well-established ladies knitwear company mainly on trade orders – knitting off garments and accessories on the Stoll machine, basic Stoll programming, linking together and finishing off fabrics/garments, stock checks, exhibition preparation, labelling, packaging, organising order distribution, keyholder.

Working on getting a kidswear collection ready for exhibition - advertising, branding, fabric finishing, organisation, manufacturing, design decisions.
