E-Sentience

CEO | 11/2021 - Current

As CEO and co-founder, I set company vision, operational tactics, and go-to-market strategy as we are actively pursuing seed funding. E-Sentience is building a wearable technology platform to help people better understand and moderate their physiological and psychological health by measuring key chemical biomarkers in real time. We are starting by making the first commercially-available wearable device that directly measures physical and mental stress through “the stress hormone” – cortisol. Cortisol is a component of sweat, and, as humans are constantly sweating at a low level, we can collect continuous, non-invasive biometric data from our discrete and comfortable arm sleeve. The device will also measure non-hormonal stress markers (heart rate, blood oxygenation, skin conductance and skin temperature) and includes a cooling component that activates when acute stress metrics exceed personalized baseline zones. Sudden exposure to cold temperatures has been demonstrated to relieve anxiety, lower heart rate and interrupt panic attacks. By automating this response, individuals would no longer need to seek active intervention in the middle of a crisis. A mobile app with user-friendly interface will connect to the wearable device and collect and display the user's data.
