In my own words
— ShannonAs a Director of Foundation Relations at Ducks Unlimited, the largest and most effective wetlands and waterfowl conservation organization in North America, I oversee and coordinate fundraising and grantmaking activities for various projects that conserve, restore, and manage wetlands and habitats for waterfowl and other wildlife.
I work with foundations, corporations, and individuals to secure and steward donations. I also collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement strategic and innovative initiatives that align with the organization's mission and vision.
I have a passion for environmental science and sustainability, and a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from the University of Montana. I have multiple certifications related to ESG, environmental interpretation, and sustainability, and over seven years of work experience in the environmental field. I have strong skills in communication, collaboration, project management, data analysis, and problem-solving. Some of my recent achievements include securing a large grant for a water quality improvement project, conducting a comprehensive environmental assessment for a proposed mining operation, and facilitating a stakeholder workshop on climate change adaptation strategies. My goal is to create positive community impact and foster environmental awareness and stewardship.
