Hi! My name is Ming, I’ve been working in the Outdoor / Technical Performance / Lifestyle Apparel industry for over 20 plus years. The areas that I am highly experiences are, from products R&D (research and development), development from concepts through commercialization, technical
/ detail construction, costing, sourcing, production as well as quality control. Beside the areas that I have mentioned, I am also very experiences working with vendors and suppliers globally. The benefit of born and raised in Asia until my teen then move to North America is able to speak multiple languages fluently and fully understand the cultures and work ethic difference and able to work well with all areas globally.

•   Adopt innovative and creative problem-solving techniques in accomplishing specific design elements
•   Development products from R&D concepts throughout the entire development cycle to commercialization
•   Prioritize and maintain deadlines with prototype patterns, samples and finalized tech packs. Partner closely with Designers, Pattern Maker/Fit Specialist and Sample Sewers to develop quality products in accordance with RYU
standards.
•   Working with Production Manager for in house costing and negotiating cost with vendors to meet company profit
margin.

Coach, mentor, and develop direct report(s), overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development
planning and opportunities.
•   Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability
and regular feedback.
•   Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department numbers that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working
effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed.

•   Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall content and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development
planning.
•   Lead employees to meet the organizations expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
•   Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.
•   Maintain transparent communication and appropriately communicate organization information to the department.

Manager, Product Development

•   Providing in house costing and negotiating cost with vendors to meet company profit margin.
•   Continuously streamline design processes and procedures that will facilitate final design integrity and accurate fit.
•   Manage the calendar and process including costing, quality evaluation, fabric, trim and color approvals.
•   Manage proto-sample, counter-sample and production approvals to ensure Sugoi / Cannondale quality standards.

•   Create and maintain product information and specifications, ensuring that all documentation is consistent and accurate.
•   Capture and detail all product materials/construction information and maintain an accurate database of BOM
information that will result in efficient raw material purchasing and accurately produced finished product.
•   Direct development process to achieve commercial viability of designs through collaboration with Fabric Sourcing,
Design, Trim Development, Purchasing, Costing and Quality departments.
•   Manage the calendar and process including costing, quality evaluation, fabric, trim and color approvals.
•   Manage proto, sample, counter-sample and production approvals to ensure ARCTERYX quality standards.

Product Developer - Hardgoods

•   Ensuring that production with various factories is booked and managed by planning personnel.
•   Schedules maintained; purchase order condition development and compliance management.
•   Working with sales on required forecast dates; and planning and managing the production of a range of products.
•   Booking and managing production with apparel factories, working as a buyer within a retail/wholesale operation.
•   Working with global logistics partners to solved issues related to apparel to ensure all shipments arrived without any
custom hold up.
•   Dialog with all factories and keep abreast of all present, current and future issues related to planning and product
deliveries. Negotiate terms with contractors and provide direction on negotiation of terms with other planners.
•   Set up terms in TAS and ensure terms compliance of contractors. Provide summaries of factory performance and issues
to direct manager and other senior managers, especially with respect to issues related to choices made by senior
management or where a group consensus is best.
•   Taking part of future company plans and provide feedback/advice on how current production situation can handle
plans and/or personal opinions on plan of action to handle future plans

Planning Manager / Senior Production Planner

•   Create product information and specifications, ensuring that all documentation is consistent and accurate.
•   Capturing detail of all product materials/construction information and maintain an accurate database of BOM
information that will result in efficient raw material purchasing and accurately produced finished product.

•   Coordinate and provide complete support to MEC contracted factories throughout pre-production, production, and post production.
•   Oversee and control all MEC materials utilized in production process.
•   Perform quality control inspections at MEC contracted factories and execute quotation/costing process for MEC
contracted products.
•   Investigate/Sourcing potential new business sources and ongoing business auditing.
•   Taking part of the Social Compliance Auditing with existing and new business source.

Production Coordinator - Apparel & Hardgoods

•   Provide complete support to KP Collection Ltd. customers throughout development, to post-production cycles.
•   Managing all Inventories of raw materials and trims utilized in production process.
•   Leading quality control inspections for all customers products and execute quotation/costing process for KP Collection
Ltd production.
•   Managing daily communication between KP Collection Ltd. And customers.
•   Sourcing potential new clients and maintains good relationship customers and suppliers.
