Michael Misselwitz is a storyteller, editor, manager and marketer whose writing has appeared in Men’s Journal, Outside, Gear Junkie, SURFER and many others. Following a six-year career in publishing, he adopted marketing into his skillset and has since helped scale a variety of e-commerce businesses, lifestyle brands, and cultural events. While marketing and PR are now his main focuses, Michael continues to publish stories about the outdoors, most often written from his home office—a hammock on the bow of his sailboat.

As the marketing director for America's premier funk and disco cultural celebration, I oversee marketing activations, manage website and social media content, direct the digital ads team and budget, and drive ticket sales to consistently sell out a 5,000-person event each March.

As a contributing writer for Gear Junkie, Men's Journal, Outside Magazine, SURFER, and other leading digital publications, I research, fact-check, shoot photos, and write stories about outdoor lifestyle, travel, action sports and gear.
