My name is Michael Stevens and I'm a Multimedia Designer based out of Glendale, Arizona. I am well-rounded in all aspects of media production including print and digital graphic design and commercial, product, journalistic, and event photography and videography. I play well with others but happy being a one-man-band. Tight deadlines don’t bother me and I’m content working in a cubicle or spending days or weeks in the middle of nowhere on assignment.

I'm always interested in new opportunities to broaden my horizons and gain a new skill or even a view on life.

* Created Big Mike's Graphics to provide graphic design, printing, and web design services for various clients
* In April of 2003 Wide Open Photography was developed to focus on photography
* In 2019 started conceptualizing the rebranding of Wide Open Photography to Wide Open Media to offer videography as well as voice over services; Rebranding completed in July of 2019

* Handle all logistics and hiring for +/- 75 events throughout the US
* Hire staff, determine hours and pay, write logistical plan for each team of photographers to determine who goes where, for how long, and what type of photos are needed
* Communicate with race directors to determine needs for each event
* Review invoices from photographers ensuring proper pay is met and all expenses are legitimate


Operations Manager

* Lead a team of 8 to 40 photographers covering marathons, triathlons, and Ironman events internationally
* Meet with race officials to determine athlete flow throughout the course and transition areas
* Scout course for photographer locations maximizing the image output of each location
* Plan logistics; each photographer's locations and schedule throughout the 4 to 18 hour day
* Manage media and upload an average of 90,000 images to company file servers each event

Team Lead Photographer

* Design print materials including flyers, brochures, posters, magazine ads, and instruction manuals
* Capture and edit photos and video for product sales, advertisements, and installation instructions
* Travel to off-road race venues to capture and edit photos and video for advertisements and race videos placed in social channels
* Plan trade show logistics; design signage for trade shows
* Organize and archive media across workstations, servers, and Dropbox application

Marketing Manager

* Manage marketing teams and programs for multiple brands of the Daystar family
* Design print materials including flyers, brochures, posters, magazine ads, and instruction manuals; packaging materials for products including bags, boxes, and clamshells; signage for trade shows
* Organize and archive media including artwork, photos, videos, and audio files
* Photograph, capture video, and create movies of products and vehicles for display on website, use in advertisements, promotional materials, instruction manuals, as well as other collateral uses

* Responsible for pulling media cards from four or more cameras during home games between every quarter and sorting, editing, captioning, and uploading to the NBA and Phoenix Suns’ file servers
* Helped with overflow photo assignments as needed including arena signage, player meet and greets, charity events

Team Transmitter/Contract Photographer

* Receive, correct, and preflight customer artwork in various formats using Pitstop PDF tools
* Setup jobs for gang runs on various different output devices
* Designed and produced full color printing on an Indigo E-Print Pro full-color digital press
* Process, preflight, gang, and output color-corrected proofs using Kodak Prinergy and Preps system
* Maintain Kodak Platesetter and output multiple-sized plates for duplicators and 29" Ryobi press
* Develop and maintain company website
