In My Own Words
I'm a designer currently working & living in Chicago. My specialties include apparel graphics and sports design. I've created over 900 apparel pieces while working with New Balance Team Sports including Track & Field, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball and Lacrosse. These designs include numerous NCAA, High School, and Club teams. These designs range from full custom sublimation, to screenprint and heat transfer graphics. I previously worked in the fabrication industry, designing furniture and cabinetry. We produced the designs in our own large production facility in Chicago. I worked closely with fabricators, architects, and other designers. I would often jump in and help the team with fabrication if needed. I grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Columbus College of Art & Design and continued my studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago for my MFA graduate degree. Graphic Designer
New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc.2015 – Present
• Create custom original artwork for Track, Soccer, Lacrosse, Basketball & Baseball uniforms and apparel. • Accurately translate sketches and blue sky ideas as digitally rendered line art and technical CAD drawings using a variety of design techniques and print applications. • Apply knowledge of production techniques to achieve desired design and application to apparel textiles including patterns, heat transfer and screen printing graphics for manufacturing. • Manage communication with sales team to create custom artwork listening to direct feedback from the customer. • Lead the manufacturing team in developing strike off’s and samples for customer orders. • Develop seasonal graphic design based on fashion and market trends for sales and marketing team for corporate sponsored annual racing events. • Design layouts for presentation materials for sales team and retailers.
