As a Department Manager, I was responsible for reading sales reports for my department and reacting by remerchandising a zone for optimal sales. I was also responsible for opening and closing the store, managing the workforce, and conducting walkthroughs during corporate visits. Every week I brought in the highest in sales, and built a lasting rapport with many of my employees and repeat customers. Not only did I handle the scheduling of the employees for the entire store on a weekly basis, but had the unfortunate task of administering disciplinary action when needed. I have learned more in the last 2 1/2 years at Urban Outfitters, than I ever did, in my 10 years of working experience before.
