• Manage the development of new domestic and imported product design, color, constructions and categories consistent with manufacturing needs and current trends. • Work with VP National Accounts, responsible for several proprietary customers and corporate accounts (LL Bean, Pottery Barn, etc.) • Performed onsite buying, inspection, and product development review with current vendors. Locations include India, China, Belgium, France, and Germany. • Maintain sample library and work with warehouse staff to effectively move product samples to next step in cycle. • Work with Product Development team on spec sheets for new design projects • Liaison with overseas vendors for Product Development from artwork to product specifications, strike off review, and pre-production CAD and sample approvals. • Confer with marketing, production, or sales departments, and with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products. • Read publications, attend showings, and study competing products and design styles and motifs to obtain perspective and generate design concepts. • Participate in new product planning or market research, including studying the potential need for new products.
