Hi, I’m Grace Webster. I am currently a recent Clemson University graduate with a degree in Graphic Communications. Alongside a passionate focus in graphic design, my undergraduate work has equipped me with interests and technical abilities in all things printing, marketing, photography, video editing, package design, and UX design. I have completed several internships, freelancing gigs, and creative projects where I've been able to apply my design skills and brainstorm ideas to elevate the marketing strategies of various companies and organizations.

This is my most-asked-about project during interviews; my art direction and design for &quot;To Be Frank&quot;. It’s fun, playful, and nostalgic. And, there is strategy infused into every creative decision. In the film and documentary space, I’ve always thought of design as a delicate dance with the story and cinematography. As an element truly baked into the overall visual identity. In the case of ‘To be Frank’ I knew that the tone of the artwork needed to represent that of the subject, Frank. Knowing Frank as a larger-than-life character, I was able to bottle up that notion in the form of a thick, bold serif typeface. I further developed the typeface by adding two unique anchor points fixed above the lettering. These weren’t arbitrary shapes or circles, rather representations of the first logo Frank used on all of his surfboards growing up. As the final step and chefs kiss, I leaned heavily into an old drawing (Anna) found in Frank’s garage while sourcing archival footage / photos. I was able to carefully digitize and intertwine the wave and typeface letterforms, creating a dramatic, emblematic effect. Marrying all three of these elements together laid the foundation for what would be other creative decisions I made throughout the project.
