In my own words

Geoff

Aloha!

My name is Geoff Ransom Wong and I’m 27 years old from Honolulu, Hawaii. My objective is to obtain a position as a member of your team that utilizes my skills, work ethic and positive energy while exemplifying the “Aloha Spirit.” I have an understanding of the surf market, am able to communicate effectively across departments, and I am able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner. My passion is surfing and I also find great satisfaction in working with people. I enjoy the action sports industry and have an interest in brand and athlete management.

I have been surfing for 15 years and have competed professionally on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Longboard Qualifying Series. I enjoy both longboarding and shortboarding. I have worked as the Hawaii Team Manager and Brand Ambassador for Rusty North America from 2009-2011 and coached current ASP World Junior Champion Mahina Maeda and Japan Professional Surfing Association (JPSA) surfer Kaito Kino in their amateur careers. In 2013, I was appointed as Team Manager for the International Surfing Association (ISA) Hawaii World Longboard Team to compete at the ISA World Longboard Championships in Huanchaco, Peru. This was an Olympic sanctioned longboard surfing event. Team Hawaii finished the event in 3rd place overall, receiving the Bronze Medal against 32 other countries.

Outside of the surfing industry, I have earned my Bachelor's Degree in Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Shidler College of Business. I am currently working full-time as the Assistant Store Manager at Town and Country Surf.

My goals for 2015 and beyond is to seize opportunities that may arise and run with it, log in more time in the water, compete in select WSL events to qualify for the WSL World Longboard Tour, and to further my education.

Thank you for taking the time to review my Malakye profile.

Mahalo, Geoff Ransom Wong
