Creative Digital Sculptor | 04/2016 - 09/2016

General Motors: Cadillac Design Studio - Interior Division of the program to develop the 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Conducted my work individually and as a small close-knit team of design professionals, digital modellers and clay sculptors. Tasked to digital model the doors in Alias, surfacing the interior trim, component location and manage major areas for two different door design theme proposals, up until the First Project Release. Coordinated with other digital sculpting staff members who worked on the instrument panel (IP) and center console. Followed design directional changes and styling cues at the requests of Designers, Lead Designer and the Interior Design Manager specifically devoted to the SUV Project. Translated their sketches and verbal input, I had to adapt quickly to figure out 3D surfacing form language solutions. Worked alongside the Engineering Team's criterial data, new/reusable components and sheet-metal compliance data to execute general design objectives. Took into account of the door zone limits for the belt-line, armrest height, shoulder comfort restrictions, switch controls, handle release, pull cup, lower door cargo, speaker arrangement and side-impact air bag (SABs) safety requirements, as well as reach advantages in human factors and H-points. Stored any new "Baselined Data" to GM TeamCentre, Personal WIP and WSR and transferred it to the allocated TARUS Mill in the studio for Clay Sculptors to develop a full-scale model.

Ariel Motor Company Ltd

Lead Designer | 11/2012 - 10/2014

Tasked to extend the company brand of vehicles after the Atom 3.5 as the Lead Designer (2D & 3D) of the Ariel Nomad, which is an aggressive 2WD track and trail buggy (2012-2013: released 2015) and Ariel Ace (2013-2014: released 2015) first revival project and interchangeable motorcycle. Other tasks included being a Lead Digital Modeller (Alias), Part Release Engineer, Structural Frame Editor, Ergonomics Specialist, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Presentation Developer, Press Release Photo Editor and as a Project Coordinator to manage the projects with other departments. Worked directly with Ariel’s Founder/Project Director, Simon Saunders, to provide design proposals through ideation sketching, renderings and digital modelling A-Surface components of the Ariel Nomad and Ariel Ace. Worked hands-on small design studio environment with a single clay modeller balancing large responsibilities and expectations to accomplish for the company, with average to minimal supervision to provide the best results. Offered design solutions to make desired aesthetic goals achievable using my design sense and knowledge of brand identity, coupled with ergonomics. Provided strategic solutions to any foreseeable issues in the projects and designed ideas to solve them utilizing multiple skill sets to convey a direction to pursue and execute, while taking into account the given restraints of manufacturing, financial costs and schedule deadlines. Frequently met with two engineers and top technicians for the Ace project and supervised a student intern, work placement student and on another occasion provided team leadership skills supporting a contract digital modeller.

Interior Design Intern | 06/2011 - 08/2011

Interned as an Interior Designer at Toyota Boshoku America to work with design staff and project coordinators to develop a future interior concept for the Scion brand. Using a bamboo material inspired themed direction, I created ideation sketches and renderings. I was able to showcase my vision for a sustainable eco-friendly Scion iQ for 2020. Conducted international real-time video presentations to inform Toyota members in Japan to discuss my design thinking and progress. Conducted group report analysis to rate competitor interior benchmarks, making note of the pros & cons in juxtaposition to vehicles offered by Toyota and Lexus, which helped to facilitate the learning process to think in the proper direction to base a good design foundation, while avoiding problematic design input. Provided a final design board to highlight the design process, which was accompanied by a half scale foam core mock-up with printed material finishes and details to enhance the presentation within a two-week period.
